In the tranquil and beautiful surroundings of the Dordogne France, the
Dutch painter Katelijne van Oudenaarde gives residential painting courses to beginners
and advanced pupils

This course is intensive and the maximum number of students is eight. The participants, whether beginners or advanced, will get individual attention to improve their painting techniques in a relaxed and creative atmosphere. One can paint either in the studio, creating a still-life, or in the romantic garden, near the lake or out in the surrounding area creating
a landscape. Tuition is in English, Dutch or French. There will be focus on skills and techniques, observation, sketching, composition painting, the use of materials, colour, how to solve a problem. During the lessons refreshments and coffee or tea are free.

You are asked to bring your own paint, brushes, etc.

Where You Will Stay

The village of Bussière-Badil lies in the natural surroundings of the park Périgord -Limousin. It is a picturesque, authentique village known for its 12th century Romanesque church. In the middle ages it was an important centre for monks. There is a pharmacy, doctor, small market, baker, restaurant and a tennis court. It is only seven kilometres from one of the largest markets of the Dordogne and not far from many tourist attractions.
Bussière-Badil is an oasis of tranquillity, with unspoilt nature, fish ponds and a lot places to walk. On the street called the ‘Bourg’ you will find our beautiful old Notary house which dates back to 1833, built on much older foundations, here is where the course participants will stay. Guests stay in large double rooms (most of them have their own bathroom). We have space for workshops and activities, and it is possible to exhibit your own work. The atmosphere of the surroundings, the garden and the house is inspirational in encouraging the production of beautiful art work.
