courtyard
leads
into
the
garden

mature

and

The
swimming
pool
is
fully
enclosed
and
is
being
newly
renovated
for
2010
and
will
have
a
large
sun
deck
so
you
can
enjoy
the
views
over
the
garden
and
surrounding
countryside.
It
is
situated
in
the
south
facing
garden
and
enjoys
full
sun
throughout
the
day.
Plenty
of
Sunloungers,
tables,
chairs
and
parasols
are
provided.
The
children's
play
area
is
close
to
the
pool
allowing
parents
to
maintain
a
watchful
eye
while
relaxing.
There
is
a
trampoline
with
safety
net,
a
sandpit
and
swings.
The
gardens
are
large
enough
for
a
football
or
cricket
match
and
there
are
small
goal
posts
at
the
property
if
wanted.
The
grounds
are
laid
mainly
to
grass
and
meadow
land
with
mature
trees
so
there
is
plenty
of
room
for
hide
and
seek
and
there
are
outside
eating
areas
in
sun
or
in
shade.
There
is
the
river
area
and
the
woods
to
explore,
and
a
small
brook
runs
all
the
way
through
the
gardens;
we
are
planting
Gunnera
and
Galia
lilies
to
make
the
most
of
this
natural
benefit.
At
the
side
of
the
gites
there
are
ample
shady
spots
to
park
several
cars.
This
is
an
ideal
location
for
those
who
enjoy
nature
in
unspoilt
surroundings.
You
can
play
in
the
garden,
read
in
the
shade
or
sit
under
the
parasols
with
a
drink.
There
is
a
rich
variety
of
flora
and
fauna
-
we
see
many
different
birds
including
eagles
and
there
are
toads,
salamanders,
lizards,
wild
deer
and
rabbits.
At
the
bottom
of
the
gardens
runs
the
small
tributary
river
La
Beune,
this
is
an
ideal
place
for
a
spot
of
fishing
in
peace
and
tranquillity
(no
licence
is
needed
as
this
is
private
land)
but
if
you
wish
to
fish
the
bigger
rivers
such
as
the
Dordogne
or
Vezere
you
can
purchase
a
temporary
licence
from
the
local
post
office
for
around
35
-
40
Euros
which
covers
a
2
week
period.
There
is
also
a
picnic
area
and
chairs
if
required
in
the
shade
of
the
trees.
Les
Girouteaux
is
situated
on
the
edge
of
the
village
that
provides
all
the
local
amenities
you
require
such
as
bakery/patisserie,
butcher,
small
supermarket,
post
office/cash
machine,
tourist
office,
cafes,
restaurants,
bars.
Our
village
of
Les
Eyzies
De
Tayac
is
the
one
of
the
most
famous
sites
for
exploring
prehistory.
There
is
also
access
to
the
river
Vezere
where
you
can
picnic,
swim
or
hire
canoes.
There
is
a
museum
of
prehistory
and
many facinating prehistoric
sites
including
the
Font
de
Gaume.
Bicycle
hire
is
available
from
the
Tourist
office
and
if
you
are
a
horse
lover
there
is
an excellent
riding
school
for
treks
through
the
surrounding
Dordogne
countryside
(all
ages
and
abilities
are
catered
for).
All
around
within
a
short
distance
of
Les
Eyzies
are
the
sights
and
cultural
events
that
the
Dordogne
Valley
is
famous
for.
Sarlat
the
medieval
market
town,
with
its
Michelin
starred
restaurants
and
cafes
and
famous
street
markets
and
stalls,
is
a
20
minute
drive.
Limuel
a
'Beau
Villages'
is
where
the
Dordogne
and
Vezere
rivers
split
and
is
a
place
of
outstanding
beauty.
