Brouillac: B & B/Table d'Hôtes NEAR ST YRIEIX, DORDOGNE

Set in the heart of the Dordogne this secluded B&B offers complete tranquillity and makes a perfect setting for a peaceful holiday, or as a base for all the local French attractions. The capital of the region, Perigueux, is 40 mins away while the Limoges china outlets at Saint Yrieix are just a 20min drive. The location is known for its scenic walks, beautiful countryside and sunshine!

Rooms are en suite and private from the rest of the house with their own access. Breakfast is traditional and included in the price. Other meals and drinks are available on request.

There are a number of marked and regulated walks in the area and in the valley in front of the house. In the garden is a10x5 metre swimming pool, which is shared by the house owners. The gardens also offers shady corners and an array of fruit trees from cherry to hazelnut and you are free to help yourself! Parking is available as well as a garage should you require it. Brantôme, is a 45 minute drive away; known as the Venice of the Périgord, it sits upon the lovely river Dronne and is a delight to visit with its Abbey dating back to the 11th Century. There is a host of bars and restaurants. The town offers fishing, canoeing, cycle hire or just people-watching at a café in the square. Market day is Friday and is a lively and social event enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

Accommodation: In the house we have two spacious, well-furnished bedrooms. One is a double en suite and the other, with two single beds is ideal for the children. You will not share your suite with other guests – you have the use of the entire suite which is private. You have an uninterrupted view of the countryside from your window. The en suite bathroom has a shower WC, and double washbasin.

Included in the room price is a traditional French breakfast: croissants fresh coffee, tea or hot chocolate with a selection of homemade jams, fruit juice, fresh fruit. It is served in the oak-beamed south facing dining room, or outside on the veranda on request.

By Air – Brouillac is 35 miles from either Limoges or Bergerac airports both served by Ryanair out of Stanstead. Flights into Bergerac and Limoges are available from Southampton with Flybe. Ask for maps if you are driving – we have them all available.
